Meet Jacob

A lifetime working with Cornwall’s coast.

I have lived and worked in Cornwall my entire life. Over the last 12 years, that intimate connection with our peninsula’s weather, wind currents, and coastal soil has shaped how I design every space.

"Knowing that high risk can also mean high reward, we embrace pushing the boundaries with our planting—whether it being near-vertical rocky slopes or a contemporary small courtyard, by simply understanding which plants to use and where."

Before founding Phoenix in 2024, I served as Head Gardener at Lamorran House Gardens right here in St Mawes, and trained alongside world-renowned teams including The Lost Gardens of Heligan. As an RHS-qualified plantsman, my focus is taking away all the guesswork and physical hassle, giving you an outdoor space that feels established, calm, and effortless.
